According to the latest CDW IT Monitor, government IT decision-makers are increasingly optimistic about their IT budgets, staffing and technology investments over the next six months. Thirty-four percent of government IT decision-makers plan to increase IT budgets and spending in the next six months, with 56 percent considering large investments, up five and 13 percentage points, respectively.
Additional government highlights from the latest CDW IT Monitor include:
- Overall government outlook for solutions spending reached an all-time high at 41 percent, a 10 percentage point increase from December.
- Overall hardware purchase expectations increased five percentage points to 87 percent, with local and federal government spurring the uptick.
- The software outlook among government IT decision-makers also increased three percentage points to 82 percent, led by growth at the local and state levels.
- Sixteen percent of government IT decision-makers expect to hire IT staff in the next six months, up three percentage points since December.
