According to the latest CDW IT Monitor, government IT decision-makers are optimistic about IT budgets and technology investments in the next six months. The overall government IT budget forecast increased two percentage points since October, driven by double-digit growth at the state and federal levels. Eighteen percent of government IT decision-makers plan to spend on mostly new assets and 43 percent are considering large investments, both up two percentage points since October.
Additional government highlights from the latest CDW IT Monitor include:
- Overall hardware expectations increased five percentage points since October to 82 percent, with improvements seen across all levels of government. Government hardware procurement expectations reached their highest level since October 2010.
- The software outlook among government IT decision-makers also increased five percentage points from October to 79 percent, led by growth at the local and federal levels.
- Thirteen percent of government IT decision-makers expect to hire IT staff in the next six months, holding steady since October.
