Results from the latest CDW IT Monitor indicate significant growth in local government, with increased expectations for IT budgets, technology spending and staffing. Thirty-six percent of local government IT decision-makers expect a budget increase in the next six months, up 15 percentage points since December 2011. In addition, 62 percent are considering a large IT investment, up 17 percentage points.
Additional local government highlights from the latest CDW IT Monitor include:
- Anticipated IT solutions spending among local government IT decision-makers climbed 17 percentage points to 43 percent, a record-high.
- The local government hardware procurement outlook rose seven percentage points since December, with 83 percent expecting increased spending.
- Local government software procurement expectations rose for the third-consecutive wave, up five percentage points to 79 percent.
- IT staffing expectations were also up three percentage points to 12 percent.
