According to the latest CDW IT Monitor, state government IT decision-makers showed significant gains in IT budget and spending expectations. Forty-two percent of IT decision-makers at the state level expect budget increases over the next six months, up 11 percentage points since October. Those considering large investments increased 12 percentage points to 48 percent, while those spending on mostly new assets increased six percentage points to 25 percent.
Additional state government highlights from the latest CDW IT Monitor include:
- The state government hardware procurement outlook reached an all-time high in December, increasing eight percentage points to 90 percent.
- State government was the only level of government to see a decrease in anticipated software procurement with expectations dropping four percentage points to 83 percent. However, this outlook is still higher than this time last year (77 percent) and two years ago (78 percent).
